This is my 450 ltr. aquarium.It is planted and I use 9 T8 tubes 36w each for light.4 Sylvania Grolux, 3 Sylvania Aquastar and 2 Sylvania Daylightstar.I use a bottle CO2 and Sera Florena.I have a pair of Discus fish,one red and one blue. I use Sera discus granulat and Tetra Min to feed them with Eheim automatic feeder Twin 3582.There are also hundrets of guppys.I put them in to the aquarium in the begining to start the biology of the tank and although the water is very soft (7 GH) from reverse osmosis and acid (6.7) they breed like crazy and populate rapidly.I self made a system to change the water automatic without me,150 ltr every week.The filters are Eheim 2217 which is very powerful and Eheim proffesionel 2128 thermo.I also use a special filter for the nitrat, Acuamedic nitratreductor 400 with the Aquamedic mv controller,which keeps the level of nitrat very low.I use titan 150 chiller from Aqua Medic to keep the temperature in 28C in combined with the aircondition that works in the room,because here in Greece the temperature rises up to 40 in summer.The first summer I dint have the chiller and it was a disaster for both fish and plants.NOTHING exept the anubias survived!
I run the aquarium for three years now.everything goes well,exept that I have had 7 discus and the two which are still alive,became a pair and killed every other fish was a threat for them.only guppys survive and they still chase them too.
